Jackie T. Street, age 78, of Johnson City, TN has gone to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Robert P. and Pauline Davis Street. Jack was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and attended Mars Hill College and East Tennessee State University. He worked at ET-WNC, Mason-Dixon and retired from Superior Carriers. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Pinecrest Baptist Church. Jack was honored to have served in the United States Army for three years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty-two years, Edie Johnston Street; three children, Jacqueline Steadman, Pam Hawkins and Penny Faries and husband Jesse and six grandchildren; Colby Hawkins, John (and Katherine) Steadman, Samantha Steadman, Evan Faries, Harrison Faries and Holston Faries.
A service to honor the life of Jackie T. Street will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Saturday, November 23, 2019 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services, Elizabethton with Pastor Garry Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service.
Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 P.M. on Sunday for the service.
