She was the daughter of the late Margaret Bernice Ervin Huff and John William Harris. She attended Browns Chapel A.M.E. Zion Methodist Church. Jackie loved to sit outside alone or with her neighbor/best friend, Ms. Freddie B. Crawford and joyfully watch “the ballfield” at Douglas Park. Jackie was a 1964 graduate of Douglas High School and never married. She loved kids and was considered by many the “neighborhood babysitter.”
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1982; her father; a baby sister, Patsy Lee Huff in 1953; both maternal grandparents, James H. Ervin, 1981; Ollie Mae Stover Ervin, 1971; maternal uncles, William “Bill” Ervin, 1942 and Thomas J.F. Ervin, 1981; and aunts, Pauline Gray, 1982 and Christine Phillips, 2011.
Survivors include two sisters, Tina Harris, Newark, NJ and Sandra H. (Robert) Davis with whom she shared a loving home in Atlanta, GA for the past three years. A very special niece and nephew, Brandi and Corey Davis (Imani Blunt, Seven and Corian Davis) all of Atlanta, GA; several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins also survive.
