James Grady Parlier (Jim), 55, Watauga, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2015.

Native of Carter County, Jim was a career machinist and gunsmith by trade. He was the owner/operator of Jim’s Gun Shop in Watauga.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Conley Harrison.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Parlier, Watauga; parents, Albert and Florence Harrison, Watauga; daughter, Deborah and Husband Dustin Ledford, Watauga; son, Bradley Wilson, Watauga; sister, Audrey and Husband John Edney, Elizabethton; brother, Keith Harrison, Watauga; four grandsons, Dakota, Ryan, Chris Wilson, and Dawson Ledford.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday January 1, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gene Fleenor and Rev. R.L. Poole officiating.

Graveside services and Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 2, 2016, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, and will be Shane Fleenor, Rob Honeycutt, Joshua Malone, Buster Hodge, Mark McCamy Brian McCall. Honorary Pallbearers are Allen Phipps, Mike Sanford, Craig Shepard, Dr. Aubrey McElroy, and George Barnes.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home chapel. Friends may also visit with the family at the Harrison Residence.
