Mrs. Jane Hunnicutt Raulston, age 80, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Mabel Range Hunnicutt. Mrs. Raulston retired as a math teacher at T. A. Dugger Junior High School. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and East Tennessee State University where she obtained her B.A. in Accounting and her Master’s Degree in Education Leadership and Supervision. She was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton where she was a member of the Adult Choir and the Fidelis Class. Mrs. Raulston was very active in The Friends of the Elizabethton/Carter County Library. She was an avid reader, loved working in her flower gardens, and visiting the beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William B. Raulston; a daughter, Dr. Jane Elizabeth Raulston; a sister, Margaret Ann Hunnicutt and a niece, Laura Margaret Welch. Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Eric Raulston and wife Maggie, Pitman, PA; William Jonathan Raulston, of the home and Keith Raulston and wife Becky, Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Abby Raulston and Matthew Raulston, both of Pitman, PA; three sisters, Jimmie Lou Wilcox, Kingsport, TN, Judy Welch and husband Robert; Susan Heaton and husband Bill, all of Elizabethton; a sister-in-law, Jean Raulston Madgett and husband Bob, Elizabethton and a close family friend, Dr. Priscilla “Prissy” Wyrick. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Jane Hunnicutt Raulston will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, February 13, 2017 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Klaus and Mr. John H. Smith, ministers officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Gene Estep. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. prior to the funeral service or at the residence at any time.

Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be nephews, Chuck Madgett, Mark Madgett, Jim Welch, Doug Welch, Joseph Heaton, Michael Heaton, John Parsons and a special friend, Dr. David Mills. Honorary pallbearer will be Van Smith, who is the son of Jane’s best friend, the late Corene Herrin Smith. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at Sycamore Shoals Hospital especially Kim Harris and Jo Judd for the loving care given to our mother. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
