Janice E. Maupin

Janice E. Maupin, age 72, of Elizabethton went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Janice was born in Elizabethton to the late Joe Stonecipher and Gladys Davis Stonecipher. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Eddie Maupin; two brothers, Curtis and Jerry Stonecipher; and one sister, Clara Salts.

Janice was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church. She found enjoyment in many things throughout life. A few of the more notable things she found the most enjoyment in was her church, her dog, Mylika, and reading.

Those left to cherish Janice’s memory include her daughter, Denise Maupin of Johnson City, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Jordonna Shockley of Elizabethton, Tennessee; one grandson, Quinton Alexander of Johnson City, Tennessee; three sisters, Judy Lewis and husband Robert of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Joan Boardman and husband Ted of Elizabethton, Tennessee and Diane Edwards and husband Terry of Johnson City, Tennessee; and one brother, Joe Stonecipher and wife Jenny of Gray, Tennessee. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Janice E. Maupin will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Teddy Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Wednesday.

The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
