Jerry had worked as a machine operator at American Water Heater (now A.O. Smith) for over 30 years before retiring. He attended College Park Free Will Baptist Church and loved all kinds of sports- especially racing. Jerry also enjoyed reading the newspaper, walking at Sycamore Shoals Historic Park with his dog, “Skeeter” and playing golf.
Those left to cherish and remember Jerry include his loving wife of 38 years, Sarah Dickeson; three daughters, Donna Brookshear (Daniel), Carla Miller (Christi Duncan), and Jennifer Mayberry (Teena Main); three grandchildren, Wesley Brookshear (Justin), Katie Brookshear, and Amber Brookshear; three great grandchildren, Brier Jones, Abby Mae Jones, and Maddie Jones; and one brother, Joe Dickeson (Helen). Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A memorial service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 12, 2022 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend David Ingle officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Saturday.
A graveside service at Happy Valley Memorial Park will be conducted at a later time.
