Smith Nidiffer, 86, Elizabethton passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.  A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Fusson L. & Anna Lee Adams Nidiffer.  He was a graduate of Unaka High School and attended East Tennessee State College. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.     Smith was a retired, Inventory Clerk with T.V.A…  He was a Mason & Shriner.    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his son:  Jessie Smith Nidiffer II and wife Carol.  Two Step-Grandchildren and five Step Great Grandchildren along with  several nieces, nephews & cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Todd Wolfe, Minister officiating.  Entombment Service will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Mausoleum of Hope, Happy Valley Memorial Park.  Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.  Honorary Pallbearers will be his buddies at Hardee’s  Breakfast Club.    Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.  Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11:20 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family request you place a little extra money in the offering plate next Sunday.
