John Wayne McNeill, age 75, of Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. John was born in Moore County, North Carolina to the late Johnny and Florence Caddell McNeill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond McNeill; and a sister, Brenda Ann Conners.
John worked in the auto repair industry and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. He was a United States Army veteran.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 30 years, Brenda McNeill, of the home; a son, Johnnie Harold McNeill, of Raleigh, NC; three daughters, Tamera D. Frye, of Carthage, NC, Alma Ruth West and Nora Marie Loving, both of Sanford, NC; a granddaughter, Danielle D. Frye, of the home and one other granddaughter; four grandsons; four great grandchildren; one brother, James “Jim” C. McNeill, of Aberdeen, NC; and two sisters, Connie Darlene Sullivan, of Elizabethton and Nancy Sada, of Oak Island, NC.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mr. John Wayne McNeill will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 1, 2016 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Minister- Chris McCoury, officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 PM on Friday.
