Johnny Steve Babb 72 of Elizabethton passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at his residence. Born, December 14, 1945 in Washington County to the late Alfred Babb, Jr . & Maggie Ellen Hubbard Babb. He was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. Steve served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a retired Crain Operator with Omni Source. He was of the Baptist Faith. Steve was a member of the Happy Valley Boosters Club and enjoyed hunting, golf, fishing with his grandson and spending time with his grandbabies.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 44 years, Carolyn Ann Babb and infant daughter Stepahnie Ann Babb.

Survivors include two daughters & sons-in-law: Sherry & Dudley Stevens and Tina & Barry English. His Grandchildren: Olivia Babb Bowers & husband Travis, Melissa English and Joey Strickland. His Great Grandchildren: Arabella, Amelia, Jaxson and Griffith. His Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Bobby & Judy Babb, Mike & Elaine Babb and Ricky & Christy Hubbard. Several nieces & nephews. His best friend, Carl Roberts.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Alan King and Rev. Greg Wagner officiating. Graveside Services and Interment will be at 12 noon Thursday, January 11, 2018 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Ken Overdorf officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Dudley Stevens, Travis Bowers, David Babb, Austin Babb, Dwayne Forbes, Jason Kyte, Nathan Kyte and Luke Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bobby Babb, Mike Babb, Ricky Hubbard, Carl Roberts, Barr6y English and Wayne Carr. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Marlene Carr and all the kids and coaches at Happy Valley Schools. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit at his residence. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.
