Josephine (Jo) Hart Eoff, 87, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Gwendolyn Forbes Hart and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Eoff, July 22, 2007, and two brothers, Charles Hart and Dan Hart.
Mrs. Eoff retired in 1989 from the Kiplinger Letter in Washington DC where she worked for thirty eight years as an editor. She was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. She loved playing the piano and eating out with her many friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include a nephew, Dan Abbott and his wife, Renee, Gay, GA; special friends, Joann Banner, Elizabethton; Burless Campbell, Elizabethton; Mike & Kathy Rasnick, Elizabethton; Carole Reece, CA; Jack & Juanita Wilson, Elizabethton; Harry Messimer, Elizabethton and her caregiver and good friend, Lisa Dugger, Elizabethton.
A graveside service for Mrs. Eoff will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Dennis Deese and Rev. Sherrel Nave officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the funeral home at 12:00 PM on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
