Joy was my late husband’s great aunt and lived with me for almost 7 years. She had a great laugh, a big heart and we all loved her dearly. She will be missed!
Joy L. Hardin, age 74, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at her residence, following an extended illness. Joy was a native of Carter County and was the daughter of the late Charles Landon Fletcher and Blance Dakota Cardwell Fletcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Hardin, Jr.
Joy attended Valley Forge Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed bird watching and was an avid shopper.
Survivors include Jay Wilson and Judy Jones, her caregiver.
A committal and entombment service to celebrate the life of Joy L. Hardin will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Kelly Wilson, officiating.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Hardin and to Jay Wilson, her best friend.
