     Juanita Whitehead Taylor, 91, Elizabethton, passed from this life to her eternal life on April 10, 2019 following a lengthy illness. Juanita was born on November 14, 1927 to the late Frank Stuart & Jennie Morton Whitehead. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fate Whitehead and an infant sister, Ethel.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 68 years, Walter Taylor and daughters: Marlene (Richard) Good and Donna (Dan) Schumaier. Her Grandsons: John (Ketasha) Goodwin and Jordan Grindstaff. Three Great Grandchildren: Graham, Gracen & Gretchen Goodwin, along with several nieces & nephews.

Juanita was a member of Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors and was happiest in her garden or yard. She loved animals and had several special pets through the years. She also loved feeding the birds and watching and identifying them.

A Celebration of Juanita’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Luis O’Bourke officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by John & Ketasha Goodwin. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to all those at Life Care Center of Elizabethton who cared for Juanita, with a very special “Thank You” to Christy Lewis for her loving kindness. Also “Thank You” to Caris Hospice for their care & assistance in her last days. Those wishing to make a memorial Contribution in lieu of flowers may do so at the Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter, 2535 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.
