K. Bryan Scott, age 54, of the Hunter Community of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from the Johnson City Medical Center. Bryan was a native of Carter County and was the son of Goldia Ward Scott, of Elizabethton and the late Jack Kenneth Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandparents.

Bryan was a 1979 graduate of Elizabethton High School, where he graduated as class valedictorian and was a member of East Side Baptist Church. Bryan was a United States Air Force veteran, having served from 1979-1981 and was a Flight Simulator Technician for the F-4 Phantom. Bryan served as a Police Officer for 25 years for the City of Elizabethton, Bluff City and Tri-Cities Regional Airport. He served as the Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Elizabethton for 7 years, before retiring due to disability. Bryan loved watching NasCar with his Dad and NFL football, he was an avid Peyton Manning fan. He enjoyed being outside and gardening. He had an affection for animals, and will be greatly missed by his furry friends, “Tutti, Domino, Toast and Kornbread.” Bryan always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.

The family would like those who knew Bryan to celebrate and honor his life by putting Christ first in your own life, plant tulips, adopt a shelter pet, or help someone less fortunate.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Goldia W. Scott, of Elizabethton; two sisters, Holly Scott, of Elizabethton and Cindy and David Cable, of Bristol, Virginia; his niece, Savannah Cable, of Bristol, Virginia; his special friends, Tonya and Keith Range, Danny and Beth Hilbert, and Rusty and Debbie Verran.

A service to honor and celebrate the life of K. Bryan Scott will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Rusty Verran and Mr. Danny Hilbert, minister, officiating. Music will be provided by Tonya Range and Loren Harris. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday; or at the residence of his Mother, 1111 Dejarnette Street, Elizabethton at any time.

The graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Happy Valley Memorial Park, with Reverend Mark Potter, officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the V.F.W. Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Keith Range, Larry Shell, Roger Deal, Eddie McGee, Curtis Bullock, Jimmy Wandell, Roger Day, and Danny Hilbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of the City of Elizabethton, Dr. and Mrs. Daniel Paul, Fred R. Edens and Sam LaPorte. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 12:45 PM on Sunday, to go in procession.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses of the 5300 Wing of the Johnson City Medical Center and to Dan Cogan, and the Airport Commission.
