Larry Trusler, age 62, of Hampton, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his wife and children, on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home. He was a son of Mary Louise Shepard Trusler of Elizabethton and the late Lawrence Trusler, Sr. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dillard Scalf; a grandson, Christian Barker and a brother, Mark Trusler.

Mr. Trusler was a 1973 graduate of Happy Valley High School and a member of Roan Mountain Church of God. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 33 years, Tracy Scalf Trusler, of the home; five daughters, Michelle Barker (Brad), Melissa Bays (Sean), Morgan Wilburn (Benjamin), Haley Carr (Josh), Makayla Trusler (fiancé, Cruz Perez), two sons, Tyler Trusler (Rachael); Dylan Trusler; five grandchildren, Bryce Barker (Aimee Mullins); Sydney Bays; Samuel Carr, Tucker Trusler, Noah Carr; three sisters, Rosa Manning (Eddie), Vickie Byrant (fiancé Jason Chaney), JoAnn Brown, a brother, Wayne Trusler, (Becky); and his mother-in -law, Betty Scalf. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mr. Trusler will be conducted on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Tim Hyde officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday prior to the service and at the home at other times.

A graveside service and interment will be conducted on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to express a genuine and heartfelt thank you to the Regional Cancer Center, Dr. Chakraborty, N.P Jackie Church and Dr. Flouresguerra for the love and care shown to Mr. Trusler and the family.
