Lillian “Lillie” Wilson, 93, of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, formerly of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away at the Transitions Hospice Center in Raleigh, North Carolina on March 12, 2023. Born May 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Smith.

She was a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and spent her life as a Pastor’s wife. She fulfilled that role well working in every ministry of the church when needed. She loved teaching children about Jesus. She played the organ and piano and played the organ for three church services a week until she was 89 years old. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Elizabethton, Tennessee for many years.

She loved cooking for her family and they all loved her oven fried chicken, buttermilk rolls and apple pie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Reverend Claude Wilson, her parents, her brother “Speed”, and two infant daughters.

Survivors include one brother, Fred Smith and his wife Karen, daughters Ruth Pfitzenmaier and husband Doug and Esther Lukenbaugh and husband Jack, granddaughters Martha Taylor-Boyd (Seth)and Julie Morgan (Frank) and grandsons Chad Lukenbaugh (Melissa), Nathan Taylor(Taylor) and Jeremy Taylor (Bethany). She was blessed with eleven great grandchildren; Courteney, Kai, Marlena, Axl, Reece, Odin, Aisley, Isla, Lillie, Valentina and Benjamin.

She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus, and spent her life serving Him. She was an encourager and a witness for Jesus until her final words were spoken.

A graveside service is planned for Friday, March 17th at 1:00 pm at Happy Valley Memorial Cemetery with Mr. Jim Johnson officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 12:50 PM on Friday.
