Lois “Pirt” Holly Scalf, 86, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Robert and Eva Kate Smith Holly. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister, aunt & friend to all. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Harrison “Skip” Scalf who died June 12, 2001, by a son: Robert Dale “Bo” Scalf and her daughter: Kathy Diane Scalf who also passed away on March 19, 1985, and her brothers & sisters: Eugene Holly, Charles Holly, Glen Holly, Lawrence Holly, Gordon Holly, Jr, Hazel Holly Nave, Lucy Ruth Holly, Florence Holly Fletcher, Francis Holly Willis and Margaret Holly Carriger.
Survivors include her son & daughter-In-Law: Larry & Gail Scalf, Elizabethton. Her Grandchildren: Eric Estep, Natasha Brumit, Kathie Scalf Cornett, Logan Scalf and Connor Harrison Hall. Six Great Grandchildren whom she deeply loved. Several nieces, nephews, including a special niece whom she helped raise, Corrine Buckles Phillips, a host cousins and friends.
Funeral Serv ices will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Gerald Holly, Minister officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday March 23, 2016 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Staff of Hermitage Health Center and Caris Health Care for all their love and attention shown to Lois during this time. You will always have a special pace in our hearts. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
