Loren “Steve” Stevens, 65, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Prentice Stevens & Dean Johnson Stevens Davis. Steve was retired from the Banta Corporation as Maintenance Manager. He attended Sunset Free Will Baptist Church, Roan Mountain. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, restoring old cars .riding motorcycles, and enjoying life.
Survivors include the love of his life for 44 years, Kay Barnett Stevens. A daughter: Ginger Stevens and James Wilson. Four Sisters: Sharon Fair, Sandy Fair, Mona Armstrong, and Debra Williams. Several nieces & nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Terry Richardson officiating. Burial will follow the service. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday will be: Rick Whitehead, Randy Whitehead, James Honeycutt, Paul DeVoti, Harold Church and Doug Hagy. Honorary Pallbearers will be his many special friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Staff of the 2700 Wing, Johnson City Medical Center and his church family at Sunset Free Will Baptist Church for their many prayers and support during his illness. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Steve to the Building Fund of Sunset Free Will Baptist Church % Cheryl Bowers, Treasurer, 6676 Highway 19 E, Roan Mountain, Tenn. 37687.
