Alice Sharp, age 89, of Broadmore Senior Living of Johnson City, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center, following a brief illness. Ms. Sharp was a native of Sullivan County, but had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a daughter of the late James Kelley and Kate Fleming Sharp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Corinne Sharp and Fanny Belle Sharp Suggs.
Ms. Sharp was a former employee of Paty Lumber Company and retired from Calloway Construction, where she worked in the business office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elizabethton and was active in the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a sister, Mary E. Sharp, Johnson City, TN; a niece, Amanda Libbey and husband Chris, Alphretta, GA; a great nephew, Bennett Williams, Columbia, SC; a great niece, Greer Libby Watson, Arlington, VA; and a cousin, Ann Utt and husband Larry, Blountville, TN.
A celebration of life service for Ms. Alice Sharp will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 19, 2015 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Ray Amos, officiating. The family will receive friends from NOON until 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Monday.
The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Andrew Bentley, Stan Bentley, Gayle Hood, David Wortman, Larry Utt and Larry Bandarra. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of First United Methodist Church.
