Mabel Myers Richardson of Elizabethton, TN passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Hermitage Health Center following a brief illness.

Mabel was born January 4, 1920 in the Stoney Creek area of Carter County to James Myers and Melia Garland Myers. In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by three brothers; Arvil, Stanley and Guy and four sisters; Ada, Hazel, Clyta and Ella and by her husband of sixty-three years, Charles Richardson.

Mabel worked forty-five years for North American Rayon Corporation until she retired in 1985. She started in the purchasing department before moving to the engineering department and secretary to the plant manager.

Mable was generous, kind, and loving. Her love of family showed in everything she did. Her life was a demonstration of motherhood. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elizabethton. She enjoyed beauty and nature and often went for drives in the mountains on Sunday afternoon with her family.

Mabel is survived by her son, Larry Richardson and wife Diane and one grandson, Chris Richardson and wife Christina.

A service to honor the life of Mabel Myers Richardson will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 28, 2016 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Todd Hallman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service or at the residence at any time. Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
