Mae Wiseman Pritchard, age 101, of Johnson City, TN passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday afternoon June 26, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center, after a short illness.

Mae was the last surviving child of the ten (10) children born to Blake Tillman and Harriett Phillips Wiseman. She was born on Good Friday April 3rd 1915 in Milligan, TN. Growing up, Mae and her family lived in Telford, TN working on their family farm. After completing highschool and Business College Mae worked at Tennessee Eastman in Kingsport, TN.

Mae and her husband Evain met and fell in love during the Great Depression, marrying in 1939. After the birth of their first daughter Dossie, they moved to Maryland to help with the war effort. They both worked at Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Factory where Mae was a real life “Rosie the Riveter”.

Shortly after the end of WWII Mae and family returned to northeast Tennessee. During the course of their marriage Mae and Evain built five (5) houses together. Their second daughter Sandy was born just before they built their third home, while living near Telford. The family settled and built their final house in Johnson City, TN.

Mae’s beloved husband Evain passed, far to early, in 1981.

Mae was a master gardener, she grew many beautiful flowers and plants around the house.

Mae loved and served our Lord Jesus, accepting Him at an early age. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially loved teaching them about God’s ways, of His love, and forgiveness.
Mae worked and served the Lord, she sang in the choir, taught children’s Sunday School and VBS, she also kept and taught children in the church nursery, at her church. Her cooking and baking skills are legendary. This strong woman of 101 years never ceased to amaze people. She would tells us now to love our children, teach them to follow in the step of Jesus.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband Evain Pritchard. She is survived by her two daughters, Dossie Pritchard and Sandy Souders. Her son-in-law Larry Souders, and grandson Nicholas Souders. Her granddaughter Evangeline and her husband Chris Nicosia, and her great-grandsons Joseph and Joshua Nicosia. Also by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker Funeral Home on Saturday, July 2nd from Noon till 1:45 PM. The funeral service will start at 2:00 PM with the grave side service following immediately after at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton.
