Manuel Eugene “Gene” Hartsook, Jr. 68, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Johnson City, he was a son of the late Manuel Eugene and Mary Kathleen Fair Hartsook. Gene was a 1965 graduate of University High. He was retired as Vice President of Dealer Sales from Appalachian Oil Company.. Gene was a member of East Unaka Christian Church. He was an avid Golfer.
Survivors include his wife: Yvonne Kite Hartsook. Two Children: Shira Evans and husband Scott and Brian Hartsook and wife Julie all of Johnson City. Two Grandchildren: Aiden and Sadie Hartsook.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Reece Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Brian Hartsook, Scott Evans, Ross Tutterow, Jerry Pearman, Pat Smith, Bill Schroding, George Williams and David McLaney.
