Marcella Kathleen Odom (Smith), age 95, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, born February 1, 1925 to Dewey and Annabelle Smith in Ashland, Ky and has lived in Carter County for over 80 years.
Marcella transitioned to her new heavenly home at Asbury Place on May 10, 2020.
Marcella worked for Carter County Schools for 43 years and retired as a Cafeteria Manager at Valley Forge Elementary. She was a member of Doe River Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, Dewey, Sr. and Annabelle Smith, brother Donnie, sister Wilma VanHorn. Husband, Luther Odom, Sr. and son Bobby Odom (Nadine) of Elizabethton.
Survived by Sister, Betty Cabble, brother, Dewey Smith, Jr., sons Luther Odom (Sharon) of Kingsport, Larry Odom (Rose Marie) of Duluth, GA, Gary Odom of Nashville, TN, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
At this time, due to the public health concerns, no formal funeral service is planned. A Celebration of Life will be held in Elizabethton at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Doe River Baptist Church, 113 Avon Street Elizabethton, TN 37643, or a local food bank.
