Margaret Katherine Jennings Holloway, age 89, of Kingsport, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016, following a brief illness. Margaret was born May 13, 1926 in Banner Elk, NC. She was the daughter of the late Forrest Preston and Fannie Markwood Piper Jennings, the seventh of eleven children. Moving to Elizabethton at a young age, she was a 1944 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was married to Robert Pete Holloway of Johnson City, the “love of her life”, who preceded her in death in 1992. She was a long time resident of Kingsport, TN where she was a member of Oakwood Forest Christian Church. Margaret is survived by her two sons and their families: Lynn Holloway and wife Tracy Holloway of Huntersville, NC with granddaughter Kathryn; and Todd Holloway and wife Robin Holloway of Huntsville, AL, with granddaughters Laurel and Brooke, and grandson Robert. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Margaret loved her sons, their wives and her grandchildren dearly. In recent years, dementia stole away many of her memories, but she never stopped sharing her love for her family or her love for Jesus. Margaret has long anticipated her reunion with her beloved Pete, her parents, and her brothers and sisters. Margaret’s faith has carried her through both the joys and heartaches of life, with an unwavering hope of seeing her savior face to face. While her family grieves the ache left in her absence, they rejoice in the thought of her whole and healed in the arms of Jesus. She has lived her life waiting for His words, “My beloved. Welcome home.” The family will greet guests and share memories from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm Friday, April 8, 2016 at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City, TN. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 1:00 pm followed by a committal service at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton, TN. Dr. Ed Clevinger will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Online condolences may be shared throughwww.terickfuneralhome.com.
