Margaret Louise Truman, age 90, of Sharpsburg, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, February 23, 2015 from the Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville, Georgia. Margaret was born in Johnson City, the daughter of the late Fon and Hilah Taylor Street. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Truman, who served many years in the United States Air Force.

Mrs. Truman attended Tennessee State College, but left college during World War II to work for the United States Government making munitions. Much of her adult life she was a homemaker, but she did work from time to time at various jobs with her husband, and later as a condo manager where she lived in Miami, after his death. She was of the Baptist faith and loved golf, and enjoyed working at the Napa Valley Country Club, which she and her husband managed in California. She continued watching major golf tournaments on TV, just weeks before her death. She was a very devoted grandmother to her twin grandsons, Douglas and Bradley Proctor.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, whom she lived with for the past 15 years, April and Bob Proctor; and her grandsons, Douglas and Bradley Proctor.

A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Margaret Louise Truman will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Derek Cornett, officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 12:15 PM on Friday, to go in procession.
