Marilyn Delores Thornburg, 71, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital.
Ms. Thornburg is a Johnson City native and daughter of the late Charles and Florence Miller Berry.
She attended Berea Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Staton, her second husband, Martin Luther Thornburg; one brother, Wayne Berry; four sisters, Margaret Lay, Lucille Cooper, Mary Frances Deardorff, and Pauline Pierce.
Survived by: two daughters, Sherry Carver, and her husband Jonathan, and Angela Staton; one son, Rick Staton; one sister, Zola Bailey; and a special friend, Tina Fields.
The family of Marilyn Thornburg will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 PM Sunday to go in procession to Happy Valley Memorial Park for 2:00 PM graveside services.
