Mary B. Depew, age 93, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully Wednesday , November 14, 2018 at Park West Medical Center. She was a Butler, TN, native, a charter member of the Midway Baptist Church, and the daughter of the late O. H. and Pearl Wagner Blackburn. Before moving to Knoxville, she resided in Johnson City for 51 years. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, John, as well as three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. DePew was formerly employed by American Rayon Corporation. She is best remembered for the way she loved and nurtured family and friends in a home whose doors were always open. She was a devout Christian and truly loved the Lord.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her son Gary Lynn Depew (Sue) of Knoxville, TN; brother Stuart Blackburn of Valley Forge; sister Anna Ruth Moorefield of Butler; granddaughters Jennifer McGrath (Dave) of Lexington, KY; Leslie Blair (Curtis) of Chattanooga, TN and Peyton Pearman (Paul) of Chattanooga, TN: and great-grandchildren Leo McGrath, Holly and Hudson and Cooper Blair and Jackson and Belle Pearman.
The service for Mrs. Depew will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with her nephew, Chuck Moorefield, officiating. Interment and graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers & honorary Pallbearers will be close family & friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Midway Baptist Church c/o Lee Livingston 2071 Little Dry Run Road Butler, TN 37640
