Mary Evelyn Gouge Hicks, 89, Johnson City, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015, in the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Avery & Etta Kelly Gouge. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. Mrs. Hicks was a retired Beautician.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Theodore Hicks; six brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Ted & Lesli Hicks, Surgoinsville, Tenn.; Six Grandchildren: Jeremiah, Jeffrey, Joseph, James, Gabriel and Wiley; One Brother: Robert “Bo” Gouge, Elizabethton; Several Nieces & Nephews.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Warhurst officiating.
Burial will follow the service.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Hannah Troutman for taking such good care of her.
Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday.
