A graduate of Elizabethton High School, she attended Treveca University, in Nashville, where she majored in music and also Steed Business College, where she was in the Medical Secretary Program. Mary Lou loved life and most of all she loved playing the piano. Among all the different functions she played for, her most special memory was playing for the Ambassador of Austria when he visited Johnson City; also, many dinner parties for Beaunit Corporation, Kiwanis and Civitan clubs. Music was always a very important part of her life, beginning in her childhood. She enjoyed teaching piano for several years…but most important was her faith in God. She loved being a mother, grandmother, a great-grandmother and friend. She dearly loved spending time with her family, her friends and her church family.
