Mary “Louise” Shatley, 97, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27th at Lunn’s Colonial Chapel with Dr. Isaac Butterworth officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will follow on September 30th at 1:00 p.m. at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton, Tennessee, with Reverend Todd Hallman officiating.
A daughter of the late Maggie Katherine (Turner) and Temple Harrison West, Louise was born on February 8, 1925, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Louise completed her education in Bell County, Kentucky. She then completed training in Interior Decorating and accounting. Louise opened her own business, Pink Shutter Drapery and Interiors, doing what she loved for twenty-six years. She loved and served her family well.
Louise was a member of First Baptist Church, in Elizabethton, Tennessee, for over eighty years. She and her husband danced with the Betsy Squares and Dance by Romers for thirty-six years. Louise was also a member of the Woman’s Civic Club and a member of the PEO since 2003. She attended the Presbyterian Church in Wichita Falls, Texas and enjoyed the services at Presbyterian Manor. She was also in a bowling league and spent three years with the University of Tennessee teaching nutrition.
Along with her parents, Louise was also preceded in death by her sisters, Beulah Smith, Virginia Nutter, Edith Garrison, and Helen Myers; her brothers, Raymond West, Charles West, and Jack West; and her infant granddaughter Susan Lane.
She is survived by her daughters, Annis Lane (Ron), Brenda Blevins (Terry); grandsons, Steve Lane (Elayne), John Lane (Torry), David Lane (Samara); granddaughters, Amber Camp (Chip), Melinda Rice (Mark); great grandsons, Brennan and Riley Vandehey, Ethan Lane, Tripp Camp (Jill), John Matt Camp, Landon Mitchell, Jonathan Rice, and David Snell (Cecily); great granddaughters Olivia, Kiyah and Dylan Lane; and along with several nieces and nephews as well as cousins.
