Neilus D. DeSilvey, 94, Johnson City, entered into rest, Sunday, April 5, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. DeSilvey was a native of Biloxi, MS and had lived in Johnson City for many years. He was a son of the late Archie and Aletha Saujon DeSilvey and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth Curde DeSilvey, two sisters and four brothers. Mr. DeSilvey was a member of First Christian Church, Johnson City. He was retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
Mr. DeSilvey was a US Army WWII and Korean War veteran and held the rank of Lt. Colonel.
He leaves to cherish his memory, five children, Janie Sanders and husband, John, Johnson City, Marion Gresslin and husband, Bill, Austin, TX, Keith DeSilvey and wife, Suzanne, Highlands Ranch, CO, Ellen Rainey and husband, Preston, Elizabethton and Jim DeSilvey and wife, Beth, Perry Iowa; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.The family will greet guests and share memories from 4 pm until 6 pm Friday, April 10, 2015 at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 pm with Mr. Gene Wigginton officiating. Military honors committal services will be held at 10 am Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park, Elizabethton, TN. Everyone is asked to assemble at the cemetery at 9:50 am. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class of First Christian Church, 200 E.
