Norman Hardin, 76, passed away on April 23rd, 2022 in Hickory, North Carolina after a brief illness. Norman was born on March 18, 1946 and raised in the Siam community of Carter County. He was the son of Logan and Pearl Hardin and the brother of Betty Hardin Combs, Jack Hardin, Clifford Hardin. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War for two tours of duty. He was awarded the Bronze Star by the President for rescuing members of his company under heavy fire. After service, Norman moved to North Carolina and worked until his retirement in the furniture industry.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hardin; daughter Jessica Shew and son Hunter Hardin, stepchildren Tracy Shew and Jessie Shehan; sisters-in-law Betty Hardin and Pat Hardin; nephews, Lewis Combs and his wife Karen Combs, Greg Hardin, Ricky Hardin, and Gary Hardin; nieces, Jane Hardin, Ginny Brooks, Melissa Fee.
A Graveside Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Ronnie Campbell, officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Military Honors will be provided by the Veterans Honor Guard DAV39, Bluff City, TN. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at Memorial Funeral Chapel.
