Parker Neyland Hicks, 6-month-old son of Allen and Heather Nichole Riddle Hicks, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, February 25, 2014, at the Niswonger Children’s Hospital. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Jean Smith, and his paternal great-great-grandmother, Mary Johnson.
Other survivors include a sister, Emma Goodell; his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Debbie Riddle, Elizabethton; his paternal grandparents, Jane Richardson, Elizabethton, and Gregory Martin Hicks, Elizabethton; his paternal great-grandfathers, Everett Richardson and Herman Greer, both of Elizabethton; his paternal great-grandmother, Andre Greer; his great-aunts, Rachel Stevens, Dawn Reece and Phyllis Bowers, all of Elizabethton; his great-uncles, Eric Hicks, Elizabethton, and Kevin Hicks, Washington State; several cousins; three close aunts, Brenda Stamey, Diane Wright and Pamela Norris; and one very special friend, Grover.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gene Fleenor officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Vernon Riddle, Greg Hicks, Everett Richardson and Bryan Crabtree. Honorary pallbearers will be Herman Greer and Tom Deloach. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
