Patsy Blevins Holloway, 75, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.  A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Willie “Bill” and Ruth Mathes Blevins.  Patsy was the salutatorian of the 1959 Class of Elizabethton High School where she was a member of several different clubs including the National Honor Society.  She was captain of the girls’ basketball team that went to the state championship her senior year.  Patsy attended East Tennessee State College, currently E.T.S.U., where she helped to start the dance program.  She was a dancer and had performed at the Bonnie Kate Theatre.  Patsy was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church.  She was a pianist at church and began playing at the age of eight.  She was a past Sunday school teacher at the church and had served as church secretary until 1974.  She retired from the Asbury Center as a CNA after twenty-two years.  She also taught the special education class at Hunter Elementary as well as the first grade.  She taught in the first Head Start program that began in 1978.  Her home was an open door and she loved to cook.  Patsy served as a Girl Scout Mother and was an active band booster at Elizabethton High School.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Blevins and a sister-in-law, Derlene Vest Blevins.  Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Shayne Holloway, Johnson City, TN; two daughters, Lisa Holloway and Shanan Adams and husband Eric, all of Elizabethton, TN; a niece, Kathy Pierce and a nephew, Bill Blevins.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Roberts officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the  service.  Graveside Service and Interment with Rev. Estel Williams officiating will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Happy Valley Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.  Honorary Pallbearers will be: William Cote FNP, Bobby Winters, Bill Blevins, John Kelley, Skip Davis-Wilhoit, Stephen Wilhoit, Maynard (Rick) Holloway, and Glen Alan Johnson.
