Patsy Irene Pritchard Rash, age 67, of the Central Community of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Patsy was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Velvia McKinney Harrison. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one son, Wesley Steven Holtsclaw, who passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 and with whom she had an unbreakable bond; three sisters; one brother; and two uncles.

Patsy had worked at North American Rayon Corporation as a security guard and was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flowers, painting, crafts and gardening.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 14 years, Terry Rash, of the home; one son, Gary Holtsclaw and girlfriend, Pam Phillips, both of Watauga; one daughter, Tammy Taylor, of Johnson City; one granddaughter, Lacy Taylor, of the home; four grandsons, Stephen Holtsclaw, US Army, stationed in San Antonio, TX, Curtis Holtsclaw, of Johnson City, Josh Wright, of Chattanooga, and Terry Woodcock, of Knoxville; two great grandsons, Carson Ray Holtsclaw, of Johnson City and Brantley Wright, of Chattanooga; a great granddaughter, Avery Wright, of Chattanooga; two brothers, Johnny Hillman, of Boston, MA and Richard Baker, of Jonesborough; six sisters, Cleta Prellman, Tina Ray, Kathy Perkins and Mary Collins, all of Elizabethton, and Lela Hamilton and Linda Birchfield, both of Johnson City; a daughter-in-law, Tamara Holtsclaw, of Elizabethton; and her special dog, “Cotton”.

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Patsy Irene Pritchard Rash will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Paul Crowe and Pastor Bobby Holtsclaw, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday; or at the residence at any time.

A joint graveside and committal service for Patsy and her son, Wesley Steven Holtsclaw, will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Stephen Holtsclaw, Curtis Holtsclaw, Josh Wright and Terry Woodcock. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM on Sunday.
