Peggy Jean Hess Mullins, 73, Johnson City passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Born February 4, 1946 in Stickleyville, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James & Demie Phillips Hess. She had lived in Carter County since 1967. Jean was retired from Pioneer Catering at Milligan College. Her hobbies were quilting, sewing, gardening & working in her flowers. She was an avid Atlanta Braves Fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Mullins, a son: Carson Mullins, five brothers: Harold, Clifford, Hughie, Elmer and Junior and a sister: Betty Clark.
Survivors include her son & Daughter-In-Law: Keith & Barbara Shay Mullins. Five Grandchildren: Dalton Mullins, Dakota Mullins, RaeAnna Hart, Brian “Karrson” Saucery and Vickie Wilson. Several Great Grandchildren: A sister: Virginia Adams. Several nieces & nephews including a special Niece: Barbara Scalf & husband Layton.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Tim Ross, Minister officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday.
