Peggy Sue (Campbell) Richardson, age 86, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from the Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness. Peggy was born August 16, 1936 in Carter County to the late Taft and Grace (Bradshaw) Campbell. In addition to her parents, Peggy was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Frank R. Richardson; four sisters, Mary Evelyn Taylor, Carolyn Richards, Georgie Berry and Betty Kyte; and two brothers, Bobby Campbell and Bruce Campbell.

Peggy was a devoted wife and mother and was a faithful member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Elizabethton. She served as a commissioner in Washington County for a number of years before retiring. Peggy enjoyed watching Pastor Jimmy Swaggart’s televised ministry.

Those left to remember and cherish Peggy’s memory include her son, Kelly Richardson; a sister, Darrell Ann Fair (Packy) of Elizabethton; three brothers, James S. “Bo” Campbell of Elizabethton, Paul Campbell (Wanda) of Apex, NC and Harold Bill Campbell (Lorraine) of Elizabethton; several other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members also survive, as well as a close friend, Brenda Sams.

A committal and entombment service to honor Peggy’s life will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2022 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Reverend Kenneth Grindstaff, officiating. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 PM.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in honor of Peggy to the First Free Will Baptist of Elizabethton, 706 First Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.

A special thank you to the 2nd floor nurses at Johnson City Medical Center- especially Deidra, Jordan, Rita and Melissa for the love and care shown to Peggy during her illness. Also, we are thankful to Judy Campbell for her love and support.
