Perry V. Bradford, 74, Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 15, 2014 in the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport. He was born June 4, 1940 in Burnsville, North Carolina to the late Charlie & Clara Silvers Bradford. He had lived a number of years in Elizabethton. He worked for the Courtyard Apartments in Elizabethton. Perry had worked for Charlie & Steve Edens for 59 years. Perry was a member of the Fork Mountain Free Will Baptist Church. He Was a NASCAR Fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Bradford.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years: Sue Birchfield Bradford. Four Brothers: E.J. Bradford and wife Donna, Floyd Bradford and wife Frances and Carlos Bradford and wife Betty all of Elizabethton and David Bradford and wife Sharon of Oregon. A Sister-In-Law: Patsy Griffey and Husband Otis of Butler. His brothers-in-law: J.D. Birchfield, Johnson City and Jack Birchfield, Elizabethton. His very loving and special nieces & nephews. His loving mother-in-law: Vicie Birchfield, Johnson City.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Roy Copper and Rev. Charlie Trivette officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 12 Noon Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by the Fork Mountain Quartet. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:20 a.m. Thursday will be: Dallas Calloway, Earl Lacey, Travis Willens, Dennis Helmick, Jr., Tony Griffey and Otis Griffey. Honorary pallbearers will be: Eddie Mottern, Charlie Edens, Steve Edens, Jim Copper, Frank Hill and Marty Buchanan. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11:20 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
