Mr. R. J. Wilson, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015 at his home. Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Robert Butler and Cora Ann Bowers Wilson and was born in Elizabethton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Brenda Greene Wilson on May 10, 2012, six sisters, Nora Hardin, Wilma Chambers, Margaret Blackburn, Patsy Wilson, Ruby Williams, and Mary Mosier; two brothers, James Wilson and Roy Wilson who died in Vietnam.

He is survived by his sons Randall J. Wilson and Michael Lynn Wilson both of Elizabethton; grandchildren, Erica C. Wilson, Heather Wilson, Mikey Wilson, and Cody Wilson; great-grandchildren Logan Scott Wilson, Jolie McKenzie Wilson, Macayla Lynn Wilson, Jacob Allan Edmison, Hayley Diane Edmison, Eli Stetson Rost, Quinton Cole Wilson, Blake Allan Wilson, and Levi Randall Wilson and a brother, Willard Pete Wilson, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service for Mr. Wilson will be conducted on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 7:30 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton with Rev. Mark Street officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:30 – 7:30 PM on Wednesday prior to the service.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mike Clark, Bob Wright, Roger Whitson, Bobby Wilson, Charlie Ferreal, and Jason Price. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the funeral home at 1:15 PM on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
