Rebecca “Becky” Ornduff, age 70, of Bluff City, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, September 8, 2014 from her residence following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Earl Schramlin and Charlotte Phipps Schramlin Sellers and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Price Reeves.
Becky worked as a nurse for several years and then started a second career as a floral designer with Felty-Roland, where she developed several special friendships. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Herchel “Woody” Ornduff of the home; daughters, Janie Broyles and husband Tim, and Kathy Duffield and husband Alden; grandchildren, Rachel Price, Mitch Broyles, Luke Broyles, Wylie Duffield, and Jacob Duffield; great grandchildren, Audrey and Haleigh Clifton; brother, Randy Schramlin and wife Sharon; step-father, Paul Sellers; step-mother, Martha Schramlin; Step-sister, Becky Nave, and step-brother, David Sellers. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ornduff will be conducted at 8:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2014 in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace with Dr. Bill Christian officiating. Music will be under the direction of the church choir. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6:00 – 7:45 PM on Friday prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 13, 2014, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mitch Broyles, Luke Broyles, Tim Broyles, Alden Duffield, Wylie Duffield, and Steven Clifton. Those wishing to attend the service on Saturday are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM.
