Robert Melton Woodruff, Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) USAF, 86, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the Center on Aging and Health, Erwin, TN.  A native of Shell Creek, he had lived in Elizabethton since 1993.  He was a son of the late Walter & Hazel Henry Woodruff.  He was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and the University of Colorado.  Chief Woodruff served more than 22 years in the United States Air Force including a tour of duty in Vietnam 1970-1971.  Mr. Woodruff was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers:  Henry & Ed Woodruff.

Survivors include his wife:  Billie Jean Crabtree Woodruff.  His children: Christopher M. Woodruff, Greeley, Colorado and Suzanne L. Regan, Denver Colorado.  Three Grandchildren:  Benjamin Woodruff, Jacob Woodruff and Samuel Woodruff.  One Great Granddaughter:  Eleanor Ellie Woodruff.  His nephew:  Henry E. Woodruff, Johnson City.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2017 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Wayne Emery, Minister officiating.  Burial will follow the service.  Pallbearers and Military Honors will be provided by Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, South Carolina.  Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 150 p.m. Sunday.  Condolences may be sent to the family6 at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com
