Roberta Sarter Bryant, age 86, of Erwin, Tennessee passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2020 with her daughter Lisa and her family by her side at the Johnson City Medical Center. Roberta was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Hyman and Florence Sarter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nat Junior Bryant.
Roberta was a beautiful, youthful lady that was born Jewish by blood, was a born again Christian and was of the Baptist faith. She was above all else devoted to the Lord and her family, her daughter’s best friend, enjoyed reading her Bible, loved her children, enjoyed browsing the flea markets, and had an artistic flair that came out in her drawing and paintings.
She leaves behind to continue her legacy of love and kindness six children, Lisa Booher, Victoria Parfitt (Steven), Eddie Wilson, Jody Mitchell, Elaine Gulow and Martha Cable; fifteen grandchildren, Josh Booher (Brooke), Katelyn Rodefer, Jacquelyn Landis, Timothy Hicks (Jan), John David Mitchell, Ethan Wilson, Brittany Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Kye Wilson, Talina Bray, Sammy White, Christine Webb, Donna Flynn, A.J. Ranski and Shawn Gulow. Several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren also survive.
A service to celebrate Roberta’s life will be will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 24, 2020 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Harold Jones, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the funeral chapel prior to the service on Monday.
The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County/ Washington County are both mandating that all citizens who live in or visit either county wear masks in public. In keeping in accordance with this mandate, all visitors to the funeral service/ graveside service are required to wear a mask and /or facial covering. Also, social distancing recommendations must be observed.
