Roy Charles (R.C.) Bradshaw, age 81, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from the Life Care Center of Elizabethton, following an extended illness.
Mr. Bradshaw was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Lawrence and Florence Guess Bradshaw. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Henrietta Campbell.
Mr. Bradshaw retired from Raytheon after 38 years of service and was a member First Freewill Baptist church. He was a lifetime member of Captain Lynn H. Folsom, VFW Post 2166, where he was a former commander for 3 years. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Freda Taylor Bradshaw, of the home; a son, Greg Bradshaw, Idaho; a daughter, Deborah Grindstaff and husband Bobby, Elizabethton; two sisters, Toni Carrico and Alice Nave, both of Elizabethton; and one brother, Steve Bradshaw, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Roy Charles (R.C.) Bradshaw, will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Benny Johnson and Rev. Nathan Jennings, officiating. A eulogy will be given by his son, Greg Bradshaw. Music will be under the direction of Johnny Patterson, Rev. Benny Johnson and Sherry Johnson. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Wednesday; or at the residence at anytime.
The committal and entombment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Kirby Taylor, Mickey Taylor, Philip Taylor, Albert Taylor, and Bud Hambrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Taylor, Freeman Taylor and the Employees of the tool room of Raytheon.
Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 10:15 AM on Thursday, to go in procession.
