Roy G. Edens, 77, of Greeneville, passed away Sunday morning at Johnson City Medical Center.

He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Plus Mark.

Mr. Edens was a member of Bradburn Hill United Methodist Church and enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law: Kathy Edens and Melissa and Buddy Capps; one son and daughter-in-law: Chris and Cindy Morrison; three grandchildren and their spouses: Bryant Metcalf, Jonathan and Mandy Morrison, and Sadie and Chad Roberts; five great-grandchildren: Jackson and Ben Morrison, Piper, Emmy, and Hudson Roberts; one sister: Norma Rowlette; one sister-in-law: Zella Edens; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Elmer Edens; one brother: Richard Edens; one sister: Judy Britt.

Special thanks are extended to Vicki and Danny Scott for their care during his illness.

The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7 p.m. The Rev. Gail Jenkins and the Rev. Charles Lindy will officiate.

Family and friends are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Thursday for a military graveside service conducted by the Greene County Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Bowlin, Rusty Edens, Michael Edens, Scottie Edens, Daniel Britt, and Jamie Roberts.
