Roy Lee Powell, 77, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Stewart & Louise Hill Powell. He was a construction worker, a partner in the operation of Yates Service Station and an Auto Dealer. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his Partner of 34 years Paula Rogers. One Sister & Brother-In-Law: Norma Jean &Dave Stines, Elizabethton. One Brother & Sister-In-Law: Dave & Betty Jean Powell, Elizabethton. Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Lloyd officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Charles Sellers, Grady Hill, Terry Crain and others selected from his friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
