Ruby Bennett Hyder, 99, Hampton, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Hermitage Health Center. A native of Clinchfield, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Nathan & Edith Hill Bennett, she had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a housewife. Ruby loved gardening & quilting. She was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Hyder, her brothers: Harry, Gene, Clifford and Cecil Bennett and her sisters: Otolene Tolley, Georgia Laws and Nadine Gouge and her son-in-law: Tony White.
Survivors include a daughter: Dianna White, three sons: Curtis (Helen) Hyder, Hampton, Lowell (Nell) Hyder, Elizabethton and Keith (Sheila) Hyder, Gray. Her Granddaughters: Amy (Chad) Livingston, Angie Beam and Lisa (Greg) Boehm, her grandsons: Chad Hyder, and Marty Lowell Hyder , five great grandchildren. Two Sisters: Ruth McKinney, Barberton, Ohio and Wileda Johns, Inverness, Florida.
A Service to Celebrate the life of Ruby Hyder will be conducted at 6 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Trivett and Rev. B.F. McKinney,Jr. officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2019 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Chad Hyder, Marty Hyder, Chad Livingston, Greg Boehm, Zach Beam, Joshua Henegar, Jaydon Livingston and Hurshell Scalf. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Danny McKinney, Fred Simerly and friends and neighbors. The family would like to express a special “Thank You “to the staff of Hermitage Health Center and the staff of Caris Health who took very good care of our Mom. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of a son & daughter-in-law: Curtis & Helen Hyder.
