Ruth Haynes, age 91, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, on Monday, July 13, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Haynes was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Essie Harrison Quinton. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Haynes; a son-in-law, Robert Boyd; and a daughter-in-law, Joannie Haynes.

Mrs. Haynes was a homemaker and was a member of Borderview Christian Church, where she was a member of the Fellowship Class and New Beginnings class. She was also a member of the Keenburg F.C.E Club, the B & K Community Club and a life time member of the Keenburg PTA. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle worker.

Survivors include one son, Richard Haynes and his significant other, Sharon Edwards, of Hampton; two daughters, Carole R.H. Boyd, of Johnson City, and Lori Haynes and husband Jon Christilles, of San Antonio, TX; one grandson, Richard “Snaz” Haynes, of Hampton; one granddaughter, Kismet Mullen, of East Syracuse, NY; and three great grandchildren, Erin, Emily and William Mullen, all of NY.

A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Ruth Haynes will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Scott Fisher, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Paul Dickison, Jody Crowe, Scott Reynolds, “Bud” Stevens, W.A. Clemons and Richard “Snaz” Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Borderview Christian Church. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 10:50 AM on Friday.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sharon Edwards, Ruth’s main caregiver, to Amedisys Hospice, and to Dr. Kenneth Hopland, for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Haynes during her illness.
