Ruth A. Williams, age 87, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late David F. and Ethel Clawson Rainbolt. Mrs. Williams was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and sister who showed love to everyone she came in contact with. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and especially spending time with her sisters whom she adored.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Williams; a son, Danny “Ralph” Williams and two brothers, John Rainbolt and Charles “Bud” Rainbolt. Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Patricia Hartley and husband John, Elizabethton, Traci McClure and husband Lance, Alta Vista, VA and Lynn Trivette and husband Steve, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Amy Hartley, Doug Hartley and wife Amanda, Neil Hartley and wife Tara, Jacob McClure, Joshua McClure, Ashley Trivette and husband Victor and Carol Ann Johnson and husband Dale and seven sisters, Mary Alice Shaw, Butler, Francis Ward, South Carolina, Lucille White, Elizabethton, Nancy Jenkins, Elizabethton, Jane Miller, Ohio, Brenda Penix, Elizabethton and Sue Smith, Butler. Five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a very special family member, Michael Hodge also survive.

A Celebration of Life for Ruth A. Williams will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Doug Hartley, minister, Rev. Lance McClure and Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Neil Hartley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday prior to the service.

Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to express and special thanks to the nursing staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for their loving care of Mrs. Williams. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Lynn Valley Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1367 Broad Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
