Shannon Scott Guinn, age 34, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Shannon was born in Carter County on September 14, 1982 to Willie James “Junior” Guinn and Judy Faye Davis Guinn, of Elizabethton. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Beatrice Davis.

Shannon was employed as a roofer for Barnard Roofing and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, four wheeling, skateboarding, riding bikes and just being outdoors! Most of all he loved spending time with children and was just a big kid himself.

Those left to cherish Shannon’s memories in addition to his parents include two brothers, Jeffrey Guinn, of the home and Anthony Guinn and wife Heather, of Elizabethton; a sister, Lisa Guinn Perrigan and husband Brian, of Elizabethton; a girlfriend, Jaime Fox, of Johnson City and Jaime’s daughters, who he considered his own, Hannah Moore, Holly Moore and Randi Fox, all of Johnson City. Several Aunts, Uncles, one niece and two nephews also survive.

A service to celebrate the life of Shannon Scott Guinn will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Mark Garrard, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday; or at the home of his parents, at any time.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Anthony Guinn, Jeffrey Guinn, Tyler Guinn, Dustin Guinn, Joshua Walker, and Brian Perrigan. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Logan and Ernest Moore. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at 10:15 AM at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton on Saturday, to go in procession.
