Sidney Lee Smith, age 71 of Elizabethton, Tennessee went to be home with his Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Sidney was caring, the type of man to give you the shirt off of his back and people could rely and depend on him. His family meant the world to him. He was a chevy man, loved working on his old truck, riding his motorcycle, watching Western shows and films and attending car shows. Sidney retired from QEP after 41 years, where he was one of the oldest employees. Sidney also loved his work family and was of the Baptist faith.
Sidney is preceded in death by his parents, George Smith and Juanita (Wiseman) Smith and wife, Barbra (Whitehead) Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory include daughter, Nikki Ward and husband, Jed; granddaughter, Skylar Ward; special cousin, Jimmy Wiseman (Jo); sister-in-laws, Donna Whitehead, Kathy Collins, and Angela Hathaway, husband Jeff and son David; brother-in-law, Michael Whitehead. Several friends, work family and extended family also survive.
A visitation to honor the life of Sidney Lee Smith will be conducted from 4:00PM-6:00PM on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Tetrick Funeral Home in Elizabethton, Tennessee.
A graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1:00PM on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those who wish to attend are asked to arrive at the funeral home by 12:15PM to travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
