Ted H Maxwell 86, of Johnson City, passed away on July 6, 2019, surrounded by family.
He was born to Woodfork H. and Alpha Maxwell on January 13, 1933, in McMinnville Tennessee. Ted graduated from Happy Valley High School. After serving 3 years in the United States Navy he earned a master’s degree in education from East Tennessee State University. He was employed by the Carter County School System for over 35 years.
He married his loving wife, Veneta in 1952, who survives him. Ted is also survived by his daughters Theresa Brown (Lee) of Florida and Donna Shubert (Craig) of Johnson City and his son Van Maxwell of Elizabethton, three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. Ted was predeceased by parents Woodfork and Alpha Maxwell, and grandson Jeremy Wade Mullins.
A private memorial service at Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton and burial at Happy Valley Cemetery was held on July 9, 2019.
The family asks that donations to honor Ted be made in support of Alzheimer’s disease.
